Cited one of the world’s natural hidden wonders, Lower Dolpo is surrounded by the lush forests, huge rocks, and sparkling alps including Annapurna range, KyangyuRipa, Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri range. It is a steep hike but the plethora of viewpoint on the way up keeps our mind away from our sour feet.
In 18 day Lower Dolpo Trek, explore the western part of Nepal. Witness pre-Buddhist Bon Po religion while treading through ancient villages. Muse at colorful barren landscapes, yak caravans, high passes, lakes, endangered wildlife, including snow leopard, blue sheep, Himalayan Musk Deer.
The major draw of the Lower Dolpo Trek is the dramatic landscapes, prolific wildlife, joyous festivals, arid valleys beneath huge rocks, sparkling Alps and picturesque vistas on every twist and turn.
The itinerary starts in the Kathmandu, a city of temple followed by a few days in Lower Dolpo for breathtaking trekking passing through ancient villages throbbing with rhythm, culture and high passes. Witness unparalleled architectures and arts, walk through the alpine forest, climb forested slopes, cross rustic bridges spend nights on the lap of mountains.

Day 1
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu:

Meet our airport representative outside the terminal with a name card in their hands. They will help you collect your luggage then transfer you to your hotel. If you arrive early, visit our office for the briefing otherwise our team will give you the briefing in the vehicle. If you have time, you may check out the local market, Thamel. A popular tourist hub, Thamel houses innumerable high-end restaurants and souvenir shops.

Day 2
Day 02: Drive to Beni 830 m via Pokhara 860 m – 07 hrs:

Today, you will get the glimpse of a real Nepal. After an early morning breakfast, hop into the vehicle heading to Beni. Barely an hour drive will take us away from the noisy city. We will drive on the downhill then alongside the raging Trishuli river. Drive through green valleys, small settlements, rivers, streams and terraced farms. We will take a few breaks in between for meals and rest. In around 6 hours, we will be in another major attraction in Nepal, Pokhara. Passing through this calm and beautiful city, we will finally reach our today’s destination Beni. Beni is a big city with a number of high-end hotels providing top notch services. You will spend a comfortable night in Beni.

Day 3
Day 03: Drive From Beni to Darbang and trek on Route Sibang– 05 hrs:

Finally, the most awaited trek begins with a scenic drive to Darbang. Though the road is not much appealing due to dust, we will still be treated by the beautiful vistas of raging rivers, farm villages, and terraced farms. We will have our lunch in Darbang, have a brief rest then starts walking to Dharapani. The trail meanders uphill for an hour above the Myagdi river. Upon reaching the ridge, walk towards the small valley. Spend the night enjoying vistas of Ghurja and Putali Himal.

Day 4
Day 04: Trek From on Route Sibang to Sibang Village 1,680 m – 04 hrs:

After an overnight stay trek starts with an easy walk to several villages. These villages are dominated by Magar. Witness the day to day life of people, customs and culture while walking past these settlements. Follow the trail meandering through the colorful forest leading to Muri village. We will take a brief rest and soak up the beauty of this heavenly place. Leaving the beautiful village behind, we will head to Dhorpatan. From Dhorpatan the trail splits and we will follow the track winding North West. Passing several isolated villages we will reach our overnight spot. Since we will reach the village in around four hours, we will have plenty of time to discover this breathtaking place. It is a small farm village with a few antique houses.

Day 5
Day 05: Trek From Sibang to Moreni 2,275 m – 06 hrs:

After spending a blissful night in this small village, we will embark into our journey to Moreni which is nearly six hours away from Sibang. We will follow the route winding North West. Walk past a number of farm villages including Pelma and Dhule and few hamlets. Walk another couple of hours on the easy trail followed by a gradual climb. Tread through a number of secluded villages before reaching Moreni. Explore the beautiful settlements, take pictures and enjoy the luscious dinner.

Day 6
Day 06: Trek From Moreni to Purbong 3,045 m via Jaljala Pass 3,414 m -07 hrs:

Enjoy a scenic walk into the colorful forest with oaks, pines and rhododendron trees. While walking past the forest, we might get a glimpse of wildlife. A gradual climb on the uphill takes us to Jaljala Pass at an elevation of 3,414 meters. From the top of this beautiful hill, we will get a glimpse of soaring Mt. Dhaulagiri and Gurja Himal. Walk on the ridge for a while then descend to Jaljala village. Leaving the village behind, we will walk west while enjoying beautiful vistas of sparkling mountains on distance. Tread alongside Sen and Soure Khola until we reach Purbong. The seven hours walk will leave us exhausted, so check into the hotel, freshen up then head out to explore the place.

Day 7
Day 07: Trek From Purbong to Dhorpatan 2,870 m – 05 hrs:

Today’s walk will be relatively easy as we will walk on the level ground most of the day. Walk past the farm then follow the trail piercing the forest of pines, oaks, and rhododendron. If we are lucky, we may spot wildlife such as Blue Sheep. A scenic trail will lead us to Dhorpatan in five hours. Dhorpatan is a small town with a number of shops. The place has been declared as the first hunting and wildlife reserved in Nepal. If we are lucky enough, we may spot the rare snow leopard. Enjoy the sound sleep amid the wilderness.

Day 8
Day 08: Rest day in Dhorpatan for Acclimatization and Hikes:

We have spared the 8th day of the tour for the acclimatization purpose. Today, we will spend our time in Dhorpatan taking rest and embarking into short hikes around the valley. The place houses some of the exotic flora and fauna. Stroll around the woodlands and explore the small villages. We will have fleeting chats with locals, try to understand their culture, lifestyle, and customs and enjoy the ethnic meals.

Day 9
Day 09: Trek From Dhorpatan to Phalunge Phedi at 3,850 m – 06 hrs:

After spending a whole day in Dhorpatan, we will begin our journey to Phalunge Phedi. The trail fluctuates ups and downs throughout the trek. We will come across grazing pastures, small farms before reaching Phalunge Phedi. Set on the foothill of Phalunge Pass, the place looks incredibly beautiful. We will take time to enjoy the vistas, snap pictures and delve into the beauty of this amazing place before calling it a day.

Day 10
Day 10: Trek From Phalunge Phedi to Thankur 3, 175 m via Phalunge Pass 3,915 m:

After a sound sleep in this isolated place, we will continue our journey with a pleasant walk. Tread on the scenic trail climbing uphill. The walk is strenuous but the view of green valleys and soaring Dhaulagiri will keep our spirit high. From the ridge, we will get a glimpse of dramatic landscapes and the snowy Alps. Follow the trail winding downhill to Thankur.

Day 11
Day 11: Trek From Thankur to Yamakhar 2,750 m – 07 hrs:

Today we will walk for around seven hours. Walk on the isolated valleys with no sign of human settlement, however, we will come across a number of Sheppard’s huts. In this area, there are high chances of witnessing numerous wildlife including Danfe, musk deer and snow leopards. Climb uphill then descend to Yamakar. The place set in the midst of alpine forest offers captivating vistas. Take pictures, enjoy the thrilling experience and soak up the charm of the place.

Day 12
Day 12: Trek From Yamakhar to Dhul:

Today’s walk will take us closer to Dolpo area. Start the trek with a gradual climb on the steep hill blanketed with thick forest. Walk amid the dense forest enjoying the vistas of colorful trees, birds and wild animals. Follow the stream leading to Dhul.

Day 13
Day 13: Trek From Dhul to Phupal Phedi 3,940 m – 07 hrs:

Walk on the trail meandering through the alpine forest. We will come across a number of streams throughout the way. Climb few short uphills and descend before arriving Phupal Phedi. The pehdi is set at an elevation of 3,940 m on the foothill of a giant hill. Overnight stay in the summer pasture.

Day 14
Day 14: Trek From Phupal Phedi to Purbong 4,065 m – 06 hrs:

Post breakfast, hit the trail leading out of Dhorpatan area. We will come across a few uphills and downhill and walk past small huts and shades. Tread on the green meadow and pastures to reach Purbong. Located beneath Jengla Pass, a small farm village Purbong offers an amazing vista.

Day 15
Day 15: Trek on route Tarakot via Jang-la Pass 4,535 m – 06 hrs.

Today we will be treading to the highest spot of our trek. Start the trek with an uphill climb then walk down to the small settlement with shades and huts. A brief walk from here will take us to Sumdeling village. Climb on the meadow heading to the base of the pass. Walk to the ridge of Jang-la and take a brief rest to submerge into the beauty of this heavenly place. The top of the pass is decorated by the prayers flags, mani prayer stones, and chortens. From here, we will get a glimpse of Furja Himal and Mt. Dhaulagiri I. Descend down to the green meadow with colorful bushes and walk until we reach today’s ultimate destination.

Day 16
Day 16: Trek From on route Tarakot to Tarakot 2,540 m – 05 hrs:

Walk past few streams then besides Barbung and Bheri river. Tread on the narrow gorge dotted with pine trees. Walk above the raging river until we reach Tarakot. The village on the hillock is dotted with terraced farms. We will explore the monastery and chortens before calling it a day.

Day 17
Day 17: Trek From Tarakot to Dunai 2,850 m and Drive to Jhupal 2, 320 m – 01 hr: The last day of trek starts with a hike to Dunai .

We will start the day early, have breakfast then tread through several farm villages and huts. Walk uphill then descend to Thulo Bheri Valley. Walk for a few minutes then cross the newly constructed suspension bridge. Upon reaching Dunai, we will catch a bus to Jhupal.

Day 18
Day 18: Fly to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj:

Waving goodbye to this heavenly region, we will leave for Kathmandu after early morning breakfast. We will first catch a flight to Nepalgunj. From Nepalgunj, we will board the flight to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we will transfer you to your hotel. Today, we will keep our option open; you may take rest in your room or stroll around Thamel and buy souvenirs.

Day 19
Day 19: Kathmandu Sightseeing:

In the 19th day of the tour, we will go for sightseeing in Kathmandu. The city is filled with a number of captivating natural and cultural heritage. However, it’s not possible to explore each and every place so today we will discover four major historical and cultural heritage.

Basantapur Durbar Square: Once an abode of royals, Basantapur Durbar Square is now a major tourist attraction. Stroll around magnificent palaces, historic temples, beautiful courtyards and antique houses then head to Swayambhuath.

Swayambhunath, a plaza nestled on the top of hill hosts multiple statues, chortens, lakes, paintings, temples and stupas. Enjoy the peaceful ambience, snap pictures and witness the monks performing daily rituals.

Pashupatinath, one of the largest Lord Shiva temple in Asia hosts 492 temples. The major temple is of Lord Shiva set on the bank of Bagmati river. After exploring the plaza for around an hour we will head to Bouddhanath.

Bouddhanath is nestled on the outskirt of the city. The plaza is repleted with the Nepali and Tibetan handicraft shops and high-end restaurants. Perform kora, buy souvenirs and enjoy the meal before heading back to the hotel.

Day 20
Day 20: International Departure Homeward Bound:

Spend the morning strolling around the city, check out the culture and lifestyle of the capital city. Pack your belongings and get ready for your flight. Our representative will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure. We hope to serve you again in the future. Thank you.
