Satiate your hunger for the adventure with our twenty days Three High Pass Trek. The Trek is a perfect blend of culture, tradition and adventure. The trail pass through the lush forest, rugged mountains, ancient villages, and jaw-dropping landscapes with world’s highest mountains in backdrops. Navigate the trail of Renjo La, Cho La, and Kongma La and summit the peak of Gokyo Ri, Kalapatthar, Chukung, and Everest Base Camp.

Marching in clockwise route will keep our spirit high as every step we take will take us one step closer to our ultimate destination. Another perk of the clockwise trek is it offers the most spectacular classic Everest-regions vistas unraveling it’s beauty one by one leaving us craving for more. Panoramic view of Gokyo Lake from Renjo la and the vistas of shimmering lakes on distance, the first pass we encounter will live up to our expectation. The view of Mount Everest makes our acclimatization day in Gokyo village worthy.

Continuing our trek we head to Chola-pass then to Lobuche. We will cross the glacier near Lobuche in the early morning without any hassle leaving us enough time in the afternoon to enjoy the clear view and reach Gorakshep. The same day we will summit the Everest Base Camp. Spend a night in Gorakshep then head to Kalapatthar for vistas of majestic mountains sorrounding us. Enjoy the beauty then head back to Kalapatthar, have breakfast before hitting the trail heading to Lobuche. Leaving Lobuche behind we head to Kongma La. Soaring Ama Dablam greets us as we step on the Kongma La Pass and accompany us throughout the way to Chukung village. Descend until we reach Tengboche then follow the trail to Namche Bazaar and end our 16 days trek in Lukla. The trek encompasses Bhotekoshi valley, Gokyo Valley, Khumbu Valley, and Imja Tse Valley. The strenuous trek demands a high level of fitness and mental stamina.

The standard rate of Everest Three High Pass trek is USD… Please note that the cost of the trek depends upon the season, package and size of the group. What is the trek itinerary?

The 20 days Nepal tour starts with a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu followed by a short hike to Phakding. We walk through all the major spot including three passes; Renjo Pass (5,390 m), Chola pass (5,420 m) and Kongma la (5,545 m). Kalapathar (5,643 m) and Gokyo Ri (5,357 m) offers the best sunrise and seen set views. This trek takes us to one of the most coveted parts of Everest region, Everest Base Camp. We will witness the local culture while spending a night in villages like Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Thame, Lugden, Gokyo, Dzongla, Lobuche, and Tengboche.

On the day of your arrival, you will spend a night at a star hotel. Throughout the trek, we will stay in a local lodge or tea houses serving the Nepali cuisine. Generally, the room has a twin bed. If you don’t want to share your room with other, you can do so but have to pay an extra charge. We provide you three meal per day in the trek; breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, in Kathmandu, we only serve breakfast.

Trek route and durationdistance?

The 16 days trek that starts from Lukla winds through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Thame, Lugden, Gokyo, Renjo Pass, Gokyo Ri, Dzongla, Thangna, Chola pass, Lobuche, Gorak Shep, Everest Base Camp, Kalapathar, the Kongma la Chukung, Tengboche, Namche Bazaar and end in Lukla. Two days are spared for acclimatization. We will spend these two days in Namche Bazaar and Gokyo. Every day we will walk around 15 km.

Day 1
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300 m):

Nepal Trekking Path representative welcomes you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. They will drive you to your hotel. Change, take rest and wander around the local market for last minute shopping for the trek. Our guides will discuss the trek itinerary with you. Overnight stay at a comfortable 3-star hotel.

Day 2
Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2,800 m) and Trek to Phakding (2,650):

It’s important to take an early morning flight to reach Lukla on time. So get ready and have breakfast before our representative come to pick you in the hotel. Board flight to Lukla. It is merely forty minutes flight. Rest of our crew will accompany you in Lukla. Have a cup of coffee, eat something before heading to Phakding. The trail on the bank of the raging river features a beautiful green valley. In around four hours we will be in Phakding. Have lunch, explore the village a bit, chat with the locals and savor the delicious dinner before calling it a night.

Day 3
Day 03: Trek From Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m):

Leading the beautiful village behind, the trail follows the rhododendron forest alongside the Dudh Koshi river. A rugged trail will lead us to a village named Monzo housing few tea houses. A short break followed by a short hike will take us to Sagarmatha National Park where we will take the trek permit and TIMS. Continue walking until we reach Jorshale, the last village before Namche Bazaar. Jhorsale’s tea houses offer the best food so we will have our lunch here. Cross the suspension bridge, climb a steep hill and walk on the rugged terrain until we reach Namche Bazaar.

Day 4
Day 04: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar:

This trek is difficult than other so, it is very important to be properly acclimatized before marching on the higher altitude. As usual, we start our day early. After a breakfast, we will embark on a short hike. Returning back, we will explore the village. Spend the day as you wish. Check out the market, watch a movie in the video theater (you need to pay for it), have a fleeting talk with locals, share your experience with them and learn something from them.

Day 5
Day 05: Trek From Namche Bazaar to Thame:

The trail winds west alongside stupa to the ridge above the river valley offering the captivating view of Ama Dablam and Thamserky above and Namche Bazaar below. The path ascends to Thamo, a small village with numerous mani walls and stupas. Crossing a green valley and hiking uphill for nearly one hour from namche bazer we will reach Thamo. From here the trail winds up then descend down to the river. A steep walk for few minutes before arriving Thame. The hamlet provides an amazing view of the green valley and snow-capped peaks.

Day 6
Day 06: Trek From Thame to Lungden (4,300m):

A short ascent takes us to a monastery. We will visit the monastery then continue our journey. The trail gradually climbs through the Bhote Koshi Valley. Very few people tread on this route, so meeting someone during the trek is unlikely. Walking for a while, we will reach Taranga. it is a small settlement with no lodges. From here we will head to Marulung. A short walk from Marulung will take us to Lungden.

Day 7
Day 07: Trek From Lungden to Gokyo (4,750m) via Renjo Pass (5,390m):

Today we will be climbing the Renjo La Pass so wake up early. A steady walk on the trail winding uphill for hours will take us to Renjo La Pass offering a jaw-dropping view. From here, We will descend down. Walking on the rugged mountain and crossing the bridge we come across the first Lake, Longpongo. After walking on the leveled path for a while, we will see the blue sparkling lake called Taboche on the distance. The third lake Dudh Pokhari is equally mesmerizing. On the foot of Cho-Oyu Mountain lies a small Gokyo village. Spend a night on the lap of Tawache, Cholatse, Makalu, Lhotse, Gyachung Kang, and Cho Oyu.

Day 8
Day 08: Exploration day in Gokyo Ri and Back to Gokyo:

A steep climb for one and a half hour will lead us to the promontory of Gokyo Ri where amazing vistas of sunrise awaits. Heading back to Gokyo, we will explore other places including Ngozumpa glacier.

Day 9
Day 09: Trek From Gokyo to Thangna (3,680m):

It is a comparatively easy walk down to Thangna. Leaving the mesmerizing view of Gokyo Lake behind, crossing the Ngozumpa glacier and descending down for around five hours, we will finally reach Thangnak. We will have our lunch and dinner here.

Day 10
Day 10: Trek From Thangna to Dhongla (4830 m) via Chola pass (5,420 m):

Today we will be treading the trail of Chola Pass. The trail to Chola Pass is not easy. It can be as scary as it is exciting. The sound of moving glaciers might give you a chill but this is the beauty of this trek. Walk on the leveled path alongside the glacier. In the fine day, you can cross the Cho La without much fuss. Passing the Cho La, we will head to Dzonglha where we will spend our night.

Day 11
Day 11: Trek From Dzongla to Lobuche (4,930 m):

The trek starts with a downhill walk. Crossing the wooden bridge over Chila Khola, we further walk on the rugged trail. Throughout the hike, we will be accompanied by the snow-capped mountains. We follow the same trail with a view of Ama Dablam and Chola Tsho lake on the horizon. The trail descends down from here then ascent. The view of Cholatse is amazing and the Periche village on the distance looks captivating. The trail continues to winds alongside the slopes of Awi Peak and to the main path linked to Lobuche.

Day 12
Day 12: Trek From Lobuche to Gorak Shep and explore Everest base camp (5,545 m):

We will start the trek by walking on the narrow passage which opens wide eventually. Walking past the Italian Pyramid and enjoying the view of majestic mountains we will finally reach Gorak Shep. After a brief rest, we will head to Everest Base Camp.

We will walk on a rocky moraine with some up and down. After a short walk, we will see a small lake. As we continuing walking, we will see a place with lots of flags on the distance. It is the Everest Base Camp.

Day 13
Day 13: Hike from Gorakshep to Kalapathar (5,643 m) and trek to Lobuche (4,940 m):

We start our trek early on the rocky uphill terrain. Crossing the lake usually frozen and treading on the very rocky terrain we will be in Kala Patthar just before sunrise. Enjoy the view of the sun rising above the world’s highest mountain Mt. Everest and eventually scattering its rays on other mountains. After enjoying the view head back to Gorakshep have breakfast then tread to Lobuche following a rocky terrain.

Day 14
Day 14: Trek From Lobuche to Chukung crossing the Kongma La (5,545 m):

The trail winds southeast in a steep hill to the Khumbu glacier moraine. Walk on the Khumbu glacier then descent on the sloping hill while enjoying the view of some of the prominent mountains and glaciers. This section of the trek is quite difficult. So mental preparation is most. Continuing on the path we will climb the steep debris and finally, we will be in Kongma La at an elevation of 5528 meters offering views of Baruntse, Makalu, Lhotse Shar, Ama Dablam, Lhotse and a sparkling lake under the pass. After soaking up the beauty of this place, we will descent to Chukung.

Day 15
Day 15: Trek From Chukung to Tengboche (3,860 m):

Post breakfast, we will hike on the trail descending down the Imja Khola valley. A steady walk on the narrow rocky path will lead us to Dingboche surrounded with terraced fields. Walk on the alpine pasture passing through small hamlets including Shomare. A short decent will take us to one of the major village of this region, Pangboche. Just a few minutes walk from here and we will be in Tengboche. Visit monastery, delve into the beauty of this place, witness and be part of the daily rituals performed by monks.

Day 16
Day 16: Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m):

Wake up early in the morning, witness captivating sunrise, eat breakfast then head to Namche Bazaar. Descending for around two hours in rocky trail alongside a lush forest, we will reach Phungi-Tenga, a small settlement in the middle of the lush forest. A short climb followed by a hike on a relatively flat land for few more hours will lead us to Namche Bazaar.

Day 17
Day 17: Trek From Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,860m):

Post Breakfast, we will descend on a sloppy hill, cross a suspension bridge, pass through a small village called Jorsale. Walking on the same trail for a while we will reach the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park then to a small village Monzo. Take a brief rest here then cross a suspension bridge and walk alongside the Dudh Koshi river. From here we can have a clear view of Phakding which we will be crossing in a few hours. Walking across the Phakding and hiking alongside the raging river, we will finally reach Lukla.

Day 18
Day 18: Fly to Kathmandu:

Post breakfast, we will catch our flight to Kathmandu. Leaving this hilly village behind, we will fly back to the bustling city. A 40-minute flight is followed by half an hour drive to your hotel. Take rest or stroll around the market, spend the day as per your wish.

Day 19
Day 19: Kathmandu Cultural City Tour:

: Kathmandu cultural tour covers sightseeing around the cultural and religious hub of the city including Basantapur Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath.

Basantapur Durbar Square: A mesmerizing plaza filled with numerous monuments, Basantapur Durbar Square is also known as Kathmandu Durbar Square and Hanuman Dhoka. House of Living Goddess known as Kumari Ghar, the status of Kal Bhairab, several temples with exotic exterior and lavish palace build centuries ago make this place most important site to visit.

Swayambhunath: A short drive from Basantapur Durbar Square will take us to another major cultural hub in Kathmandu i.e. Swayambhunath. The oldest monument popularly known as Monkey temple among local is a perfect spot to take a glance at the Kathmandu city. It houses several Buddha statues, temples, chaityas and prayer wheels.

Pashupatinath: After spending mesmerizing time in Swayambhunath, we will drive to Pashupatinath, a holy temple nestled on the bank of holy river housing hundreds of temples. The main temple of Lord Shiva is constructed in pagoda style with exotic four silver doors. The temple is very popular among the Hindu and festival like Teej and Shiva Ratri is celebrate each year with great enthusiasm. Those who are not Hindu cannot enter the temple premises.

Bouddhanath: Half an hour drive from Pashupatinath will lead us to Boudhanath. The place houses huge stupa, temples, prayer wheels and shrines. We will see a lot of vendors and restaurant around the chortens. We will have our lunch, enjoy the view then concluding our Kathmandu Sightseeing tour, head back to the hotel.

Day 20
Day 20: Departure:

Wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, do the last minute shopping and get ready for your departure. We will transfer you to the Tribhuvan International Airport three-hour prior to your flight. It was a pleasure serving you, we hope you too enjoy our service. Have a safe flight.

The difficulty level of trek?

This trek is difficult then EBC so preparation is a must. Maintain a high level of fitness, do exercises on a regular basis for around three months. You will have to ascend steep hills for hours So both mental and physical stamina is required. Jogging, squat, leg-based cardio is best to prepare you for the trek.

- Will I get Acute Mountain Sickness?

Yes, in high altitude it’s quite possible to get altitude sickness. So we spare two days for acclimatization. However, you don’t have to worry because we have made every plan to tackle this issue. Having knowledge of AMS will come handy if you suffer from it. So learn the cause, prevention and cure of Nepal Trekking Path before embarking into the trek.

- What kind of insurance will I need?

Insurance is must if you want to trek in Everest region. Various problems may arise at the high altitude so to tackle with such situation, you should be prepared beforehand. You might need emergency medical assistance or even helicopter rescue. So buy insurance that covers every aspect of your trek.

- I don’t have a group, can I join you?

Yes, you can but you will be mixed with another group.

- What if I get lost in the trail?

If you get lost while trekking with us, Nepal Trekking path will take the whole responsibility. However, this situation is not going to arise because we hire responsible and experienced guides who take care of you 24/7.

- Will you alter your itinerary according to my convenient?

Yes, we customize trek as per your wish. Please let us know the detail beforehand so that we can prepare an effective itinerary to make your holiday more relaxing and worthy.

- Should I buy all the trekking gears or can I hire it?

If you wish to buy the trekking gears, you may do so. But if you want to hire them you can do it, our team will help you with that. After arriving in Kathmandu, we will take you to the shops where you can hire those gears.

- How is weather up there?

Since we will be trekking above 5000 meters, it’s not possible to predict the weather. Generally, the days are sunny and night are cold. So carry clothes accordingly. Make sure to carry a waterproof jacket, down jacket and pair of trousers. Ask your guides what weather can be expected then throw the clothes accordingly in your backpack.

-Do you provide drinking water or should I buy bottled water?

We don’t encourage you to use the plastic bottled mineral water as there is a problem of disposing in the Himalayas. You may drink water using the water purification tablet or boiled water

- Can your guides communicate in English?

Yes, they are fluent in English and speaks many other languages so communication will never be a problem.

- What kind of facilities does tea houses provide?

They will provide you with a simple yet tidy room with twin bed, hygienic meal, hot shower (you have to pay for it), electricity and charging point.

- Should I worry about my safety?

No, you should not. For Nepal Trekking Path nothing is more important than your well being. So our guides keep eye on you every time to ensure you are doing fine. If you face any problem, you can talk to them.

- How much weight should I Carry?

Your backpack will be around 4 to 5 kg.
