Overview

The most amazing way to explore the Khumbu region is to embark into the Everest Gokyo Ri Trek. Everest Gokyo Ri Trekking is one of the most popular Everest region trekking in Nepal offering a magnificent view of numerous high peaks and large glaciers. It is a 13 days trekking package that covers a huge part of the Everest region.

Trekkers often overlook the magnificent Gokyo Ri Lake which is set on the Everest region and tend to choose the Everest region Trek only. Since Everest Gokyo Ri Trek is a remote area trekking in Nepal which is longer than EBC Trek and acquires a good amount of time and physique to complete it, lots of Nepal trekking agencies don’t really bother to tell us why to choose the Everest Gokyo Ri Trek. But being reliable local based company, Nepal Trekking Path see Everest Gokyo Ri Trek as an excellent alternative to the main EBC circuit. The trek is one of the best ways to explore the natural beauty of Nepal and observe the numerous highest peaks of the world from the vicinity.

Everest Gokyo Ri Trek is an alternative trek for EBC Trek and is of more gratifying than Everest Base Camp Trek in many ways. The trek offers the view of a series of six high altitude lakes. The trekking trials are extremely beautiful and less crowded, unlike Everest Base Camp Trek. The trek starts off along with the main Everest Base Camp trek trial but deviates at Gokyo. From the top of Gokyo Ri, you get the best view of Mount Everest. You get the view of four of the highest summits Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Cho Oyu, Mount Makalu, Ngozumpa glacier, six lakes which is not even visible from Everest Base Camp Trek. On that account, The trek hands down sums up the best of the entire Everest region.

How much the Everest Gokyo Ri Trek cost?

The standard trek price is USD… The cost varies depending upon the tour plan, budget, and Group size. Accommodation in Kathmandu will be in 3-star hotel. Nepal Trekking Path tailor the tour and packages price as per your need. We provide complimentary services and discount as well.

What is the trek itinerary?

It is eleven days trekking from Kathmandu to Kathmandu and two additional days in Kathmandu. All the Everest region trek starts from Lukla passing via Namche Bazaar, a small town suitable for our first day acclimatization. The best thing about this trek is we will take a different route while climbing up and returning. The trail winds through Lukla, Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Dhole, Machhermo and Gokyo. For the glimpse of amazing sunrise from the Gokyo Ri, we hike for two hours from Gokyo. From here we tread to the trailhead but this time following different route; Tengboche to Monzo then Lukla. The itinerary is designed carefully so that you can enjoy the comfortable and relaxing trek.  On the day we return to Kathmandu, we will tour major cultural heritage of Kathmandu including Basantapur Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Bouddha.

Trek route, duration, and distance?

The round trip is around 60 km and the trek can be completed within ten days (Lukla to Lukla). We will tread for 4 to 8 hours every day. The trail winds through Lukla, Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Dhole, Machhermo and Gokyo. From Gokyo, we will tread to Gokyo Ri then head back to Gokyo and then to Lukla, treading thorough Tengboche and Monzo.
