Overview

Lobuche Peak Climbing take us over the Lobuche village nestled in the Khumbu region. Ascend the peak from the south ridge offering a glimpse of Khumbu Valley, Mt. Everest, Pumori, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and Lhotse. The highest altitude we will navigate in this trek is Lobuche Peak at an elevation of 6,119 meters.

Explore the bewitching landscapes, shimmering lakes, lush vegetation, captivating historic villages, enclosed by sparkling alps. Ancient monasteries reflecting ancient architectures and crafts, trails dotted with prayer flags, mani walls, chortens, and gumbas add a sense of peace and serenity to the landscape.

The trek will lead us to perfect vantage points yielding an aerial view over captivating surroundings. The 19 days Nepal tour will take us into exceptional cultural and natural settings, providing us with opportunities to explore colorful local markets, opulent palaces, historic villages and some highest mountains in the world.

The Lobuche Peak Climbing follows the most popular trekking route in the Everest region. In the initial days, the trail winds through historic villages connecting largest town in the region to few passes and above the river valleys before ascending the Lobuche Peak. Our trek end in a small hill town, Lukla, the starting point of the trek.

Ascending the Lobuche Peak requires some technical climbing knowledge and demand a high level of physical fitness and mental stamina. If you don’t have technical knowledge, we will provide you with a training session in Kathmandu before leaving for the trek.

Day 1
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu:

Nepal trekking Path’s representative will meet you outside the terminal, greet you, help you collect your luggage and transfer you to your hotel. They will assist you until you check-in. If you arrive early, visit our office for the briefing of the trek and introduction with your tour guides. You may spend the remaining day as per your wish. You may either go out to check out the local market or spend the day in your hotel.

Day 2
Day 02: In Kathmandu valley sightseeing:

What better way to enjoy the Kathmandu tour than to check out some of the most coveted historical and cultural sites across the city. The tour starts right after early morning breakfast. Nepal Trekking Path cultural guide will receive you from your hotel then drive to Basantapur Durbar Square.

Basantapur Durbar Square:

An ancient palace featuring captivating Newari architecture and crafts is sure to enchant you. Explore the ancient temples, learn the Newari culture, check out the local vendors selling handicrafts and accessories, beautiful courtyards and statues. Get a glimpse of the living goddess, Kumari at Kumari Ghar.

Swayambhunath:

Our next destination is a holy site Swayambhunath. Either tread on a staircase with 365 steps or enter the plaza using another entrance. The beautiful stupa, chortens, temples, and monasteries offer a sense of serenity. Check out the mesmerizing plaza on the hilltop offering a clear view of the city then drive to Pashupatinath.

Pashupatinath:

The soul-soothing river, elegant architecture, beautiful forest, and peaceful ambiance make the place a must visit. The plaza houses 492 temples inside and outside the courtyard and two major festivals Shiva Ratri and Teej are celebrated here every year. Stroll around the plaza, learn the Hindu culture, offer prayers then head to Bouddhanath.

Bouddhanath:

Bouddhanath is famed for hosting the world largest stupa. Check out the plaza, buy souvenirs if you want and eat lunch before heading back to your hotel. We will hold a small training session for the upcoming trek. Our experienced guides will teach you how to use crampons and ropes.

Day 3
Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & Trek to Phakding 2,640 m – 04 hrs:

We should catch an early morning flight so wake up before the dawn, have breakfast and pack your belongings. Our airport representative will escort you to the airport for your flight to Lukla. Get a glimpse of rural Nepal in the forty-five minutes flight. After landing meet the rest of the crew. Glance at the beautiful mountains, Himalayans and mountain village while sipping tea or coffee. Depending upon the time of arrival, we will have lunch then kick off the first day of the trek. The trail follows ancient route connecting small villages including Cheplung to the largest town in the Khumbu region, Namche Bazaar. It is four hours of walk on the easy and pleasant trail passing through small villages, farms, terraced fields, streams alongside the raging river. Walk on the trail with few ups and downs while enjoying the vistas of Kwangde and Kusum Kanguru peaks. We will stay in the lodge beside raging Dudh Koshi.

Day 4
Day 04: Trek From Phakding to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 05 hrs:

It’s wise to start the trek early if we want to avoid busy trek. A brief walk from Phakding will take us to the suspension bridge. Cross the river to reach another side of the valley. Continue walking on the yak and donkey trains besides traditional huts until we reach Tok Tok village. We will move up and down enjoying the view of Dudh Koshi River. We will take a few breaks in between the trek to snap pictures and enjoy the view. Walk past Benkar then cross the river one more time. A brief walk from here will take us to another major but small village Monjo. Leaving the beautiful village behind we will enter the Sagarmatha National park and walk downhill. After passing a few small villages with fine hotels, we will cross the suspension bridge again and walk on the steep path then common across lush forest. We will have lunch in Jhorsalle then continue our walk towards another large suspension bridge and climb the steep uphill to Namche Bazaar. The largest town in Khumbu Region, Namche Bazaar hosts numerous small stores selling trekking gear and groceries. There are a number of restaurants, cyber cafes and coffee shops.

Day 5
Day 05: Rest Day at Namche Bazaar for Acclimatization and Excursion:

After a leisurely breakfast, we will hike to Everest View Hotel. Enjoy the vistas of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Tawache, Kwangde, and Tarmasarku while sipping a tea or coffee. Walk back to Namche Bazaar and have lunch then wander around the local market.

Day 6
Day 06: Trek From Namche Bazaar to Tengboche 3,867 m – 05 hrs:

Two sound nights in Namche Bazaar will prepare us for the upcoming trek. Walk past the Everest View Hotel and numerous small bakeries. Follow a steep uphill then walk on the leveled path with the Mt. Ama Dablam on the backdrop. We will come across few pagodas. The view over the Dudh Koshi Valley and Kongde Ri Peak will keep our spirit high. Follow the trail passing through the rhododendron forest to arrive Phungi Thenga, our lunch spot. Have lunch then cross the suspension bridge. Walk for around two hours to reach Tengboche, a small settlement popular for a Monastery. Upon reaching Tengboche, we will observe the daily life of monks and enjoy the serenity.

Day 7
Day 07: Trek From Tengboche to Dingboche 4,260 m – 05 hrs:

Follow the icy narrow path until we reach a mani stone wall from where the trail diverts. On the way to Dingboche, we will come across reminisce of monastery destroyed by earthquakes. We will walk past a bridge then follow the narrow trail leading to Pangboche village. Follow a steep uphill leading to a small settlement called Shomare. We will have lunch while enjoying the charming view. From here enjoy a short steep uphill climb, cross the river and ascend until we reach Dingboche. From Dingboche, we will get a glimpse of Mt. Lhotse and Ama Dablam. The village on the lap of giant hills and sparkling mountains houses few tea houses and lodges. The place host a large open space ideal for camping.

Day 8
Day 08: Rest day at Dingboche for Acclimatization and Excursion:

A well-deserved rest after trekking for six days. It is also important for adjusting in the higher altitude. A leisurely breakfast is followed by a short hike to Nagajung Hill above Imjatse valley. Around two hours of climb will rewards us with a panoramic view of Mt, Makalu and other alps. Returning back to Dingboche, we will have lunch then stroll around the place.

Day 9
Day 09: Trek From Dingboche to Lobuche 4,930 m – 05 hrs:

After spending two nights in Dingboche, we will set off for Lobuche. Start the trek on the pleasant trail then climb uphill dotted with prayer flags and monuments. From the ridge, get a glimpse of Mt. Makalu, Imjatse Peak, Ama Dablam, Twache Peak, Cholatse Peak, and Imjatse Valley. A short uphill climb will take us to Thukla village over the ridge. In Thukla we will have lunch, take a brief rest and snap pictures then head to Thugla Pass. Climb the steep uphill to reach the ridge of the pass. From the pass, walk for one more hour to reach Lobuche. The small settlement in the midst of Lobuche East and West Peak offers a sense of peace and serenity. Spend a sound night in the wilderness of Everest region.

Day 10
Day 10: Trek From Lobuche to Gorak Shep 5,170 m and Everest Base Camp 5,364 m and return to Gorakshep – 06 hrs:

It’s one of the major days of this trek. Today, we will summit Everest Base Camp. First, we will head to Gorakshep. This section of the trek is not much difficult but due to the high altitude, it won’t be easy. It will take us two hours to reach Gorak Shep. Weather will be windy and the trail passes through boulders. Gorak Shep is set on the frozen lakebed thus holds very few houses. Check-in to the hotel, keep your bags and have lunch before heading to Everest Base Camp. Walk on the sandy path, glacier, and moraine for 2 to 3 hours to reach the Everest Base Camp. From the camp, we will get a glimpse of Mt. Pumori and Nuptse. After enjoying the views for a few minutes, we will head back to Gorak Shep.

Day 11
Day 11: Hike From Gorak Shep to Kalapatthar 5,545 m /18,192 ft Trek to Lobuche Base Camp:

Today is another biggest day of this trek. Today, we will get the captivating view of the world’s tallest mountain, Mt. Everest. We will start our trek before the sunrise. Walk with the help of torchlight to reach Kalapatthar from where we will see one of the most beautiful sunrises ever. Enjoy the view then hike back to Gorak Shep, have breakfast then head to Lobuche Base Camp. Tread on the same path for a couple of hours until the trail diverts to the base camp. Walk on the steep rocky terrain along the Lobuche glacier while enjoying the vistas of several mountain ranges including Kantega, Thamserku, Pokalde, Cholatse and Ama Dablam. Upon reaching the base camp, our guides will set the camp meanwhile we will stroll around the camp. Our experienced guides will give us a brief lesson on climbing the peak. After a delicious dinner, we will call it a day.

Day 12
Day 12: Climb to Lobuche High Camp 5,600 m / 18,368 ft – 04 hrs:

Climb on the rocky moraine for four hours to reach Lobuche High Camp. We will prepare for climbing the Lobuche Peak.

Day 13
Day 13: Climb the summit 6,119 m / 20,070 ft and Trek back to Base Camp – 08 hrs:

Start early, have breakfast then head to the Lobuche Peak. The steep technical climb will be a little strenuous. Our guide will walk before us and fix the rope in the necessary part. A tough climb for a couple of hours will take us to the top of Lobuche Peak from where we can have an unparalleled vista of some of the world’s highest peaks including Mt. Everest. Enjoy the magnificent vistas before descending down to the base camp.

Day 14
Day 14: Reserve Day in Case of Unfavorable Weather Condition:

This day is reserved to tackle with any unforeseen problems like a change in weather, landslides etc. If we don’t face any kind of problem and everything goes according to plan, we will reach Lukla one day earlier.

Day 15
Day 15: Trek From Base Camp to Tengboche 3,867 m – 05 hrs:

Walk past the glaciers and rocky moraines to reach Lobuche. From Lobuche, we will descend on the trail dotted with trees. Tread through a small village called Pangboche then cross the bridge. From here, walk for an hour to reach Tengboche.

Day 16
Day 16: Trek From Tengboche to Monjo 2,880 m via Namche Bazaar – 06 hrs:

Walk down to Phunge Tenga then cross the bridge over the Imjatse River. Climb uphill for around an hour then follow the trail leading to Namche Bazaar. Tread downhill to Dudh Koshi River and walk past the fluctuating hill to reach Monjo, a small village housing few tea houses.

Day 17
Day 17: Trek From Monjo to Lukla – 05 hrs:

Today is the last day of our trek. Today, we will retrace our step back to the trailhead, Lukla. Walk past Phakding and Ghat then climb uphill to reach Lukla. After dinner in the evening, we will bid goodbye to our porters.

Day 18
Day 18: Fly to Kathmandu:

Catch an early morning flight to Kathmandu. Transfer to the hotel and take rest. You may check out the local market if you wish to.

Day 19
Day 19: International Departure:

It’s time to bid goodbye to the beautiful country. We will transfer you to the Tribhuvan International Airport for the final departure.
