Overview
Langtang Valley Trek provides us with an opportunity to explore rustic Nepal without traveling far from the capital city i.e. Kathmandu. Popular among trekker as the valley of glacier trek, the trek offers a wide range of adventures from hiking on the off-beaten-trail to climbing steep hills and snowy trails with a bewitching view of lofty snow-capped Alps and sparkling glaciers.
The valley amid the Mount Langtang Lirung (7,246 m /2,3766 ft) features natural wonders including lush forest, rugged terrain, grassy meadows, gorgeous mountain stream, wildflowers, wild animals and colorful birds. The valley does not just enchant you by the natural wonder it has but also blow your mind with the opportunity to delve into the vibrant culture of the place. The trail is rich in history and dotted with Buddhist monasteries, prayer flags, mani walls, and a cheese factory.
The Langtang trek passes through both well-defined trail and off-the-beaten-path passing through hypnotizingly remote and sparsely populated areas giving us the opportunity to enjoy both types of the walk.
In 1971, the area became the first Himalayan national park of Nepal. Natural heritage, forests landscapes, and wildlife are treasured and reserved as it was before. Explore wild boar, Himalayan black bears, red pandas, and rare faunas and immerse into the beauty of Naya Kanga, Yala Peak, Langshisha Ri, Mount Ganesh Himal, Gangchenpo, Langtang Lirung, Mt Gaurishanker, and Dorje Lakpa during Langtang area trekking.
The ten days trip start with a rest day in Kathmandu followed by a drive to SyabruBesi. The trek starts on the 3rd day of the trip with a short hike to Lama Hotel passing through the enchanting forest. Langtang village is another gem hidden in this valley. Ancient chortens, gombas, mani walls, and prayers flags make the village more captivating. Kyanjin Ri and Chorka Ri or Tsergo Ri are some wonders the place holds.
How much the Langtang Valley Trek cost?
The standard cost is USD… under this price, we offer services like pick up and drop to the international airport, accommodation in 3-star hotel with breakfast in Kathmandu, accommodation with three meals per day during the trek, government tax, domestic flights, all the surface transportation, trek permit etc. There are a few things that is not covered by the standard rate. What is the trek itinerary?
On the day of your arrival, you will spend your time resting and preparing for the trek or you may go for gear shopping. We will head to our trailhead, Syabru Besi after an early morning breakfast in Kathmandu. It is around seven hours of drive to Syabru Besi. Our trek starts next day with a hike to Lama Hotel. We will explore the nearby places, enjoy the view and take rest after dinner. Next day navigate the trail to Langtang village, a village that was completely destroyed by the 2015 earthquake. Our next destination is Kyanjin Gompa. From here we will go to the nearby hill stations for a panoramic view of this valley.
Throughout your trek, you will be served with Nepali cuisines, ethnic meals and International dishes (in a few places). The hotel rooms during trek are simple catering the minimum services. However, in Kathmandu, you will spend your nights in the star hotels.
Trek route and durationdistance?
Syabru Besi is 49.6 km away from Kathmandu and the distance can be covered in around 7 hours drive. The trek that starts from Syabru Besi passes through few major villages including Lama Hotel, Langtang village, and Kyanjin Gompa. The typical walking days is 6 however the overall trip can be concluded in 10 days. Every day you will be walking for around 4 to 6 hours only.
