1. Annapurna region.

 Cho La Pass (5,320 m) :

Cho La Pass Trek passes through Gokyo Valley, Everest Base Camp, and Cho La Pass. Cho La Pass trek is one of the most thrilling trekking routes leading to challenging high passes and beautiful lakes. The strenuous trek of 18 to 21 days covers some amazing climbs including Chukkung Ri, Gokyo Ri, and Kalapathar. The 20 day’s strenuous trek comprises multiple technical ascends and descends. The climb is astonishingly charming and endlessly nerve-racking. The beautiful peak lies in the middle of Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Makalu and Mt. Everest. Since climbing peak is not an easy task, a few days of acclimatization is a must. 

The trek meander through the countryside offering trekkers immense opportunities to immerse in the deep-rooted culture. Explore the villages of stone decorated with colorful prayer flags, mani stones, and Buddhist shrines. 

From the high camp, the trail follows steep ravine and trekkers need to use crampons to climb the peak. Situated in the North of Kathmandu, Langtang is around 61.8 km away from the capital city. It is fairly near to Kathmandu city yet provides the rustic experience and offers the opportunity to explore the high mountains in fewer days and is comparatively less crowded. Most of the trekkers visit this area to explore Cross Lauribinayak Pass at an elevation of 46100 m.

The trek in Langtang region will revive your soul. The third favorite destination of trekkers, Langtang offers the most rustic trekking experience. Langtang is found only a 3 to 4-hour drive from Kathmandu. Yet, you can view some of the major mountains including Annapurna, Makalu, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal. Apart from these mountains, you can get glimpse of peaks like Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m), Yala Peak (5,520 m), Morimoto (6,150 m), Tsogaka (5,846 m), Gangchenpo (6,387 m), Langshisha Ri (6,427 m), Dogpache (6,562 m), Yansa Tsenji (6,690 m), Changbu (6,781 m) and Loenpo Gang (6,979 m).

Quaint villages Tucked away in a natural paradise far from the modernity retains a rustic community charm. Sherpa Hyolmo, and Tamang dominates the region. Since Langtang lies between Nepal and Tibet border, you can see the heavy influence of Tibetan culture in this area. Langtang Valley :

 The Langtang Valley Trek is relatively easy and can be completed within 11 days. The 5 to 6 hours walk per day is rewarded by the incomparable vistas of Dorje Pakpa Peak, Yala Peak, Gangchempo and Langtang Lirung among others. Grueling in the Tserko Ri will test your patient however the view from the top is unquestionably a decent reward for your endeavor.

The trek begins at Syabrubesi and goes all the way to Kyanjin Gompa winding through the beautiful rivers, lush forests, alpine vegetation, bamboo groves, glaciers, and enchanting waterfalls. Spend the nights at the folkloric villages sheltering Gurung, Tamang and Hylmo people.

Gosainkunda

Gosainkunda, an alpine lake at an elevation of 4,380 m has a great significance among the Hindu devotees and witness thousands of devotees during the Janai Purnima festival in the month of Bhadra. The holy lake is believed to wash away our sins and grant us our wish. 

The jaw-dropping natural wonders along with charming mountain villages, Tamang, Gurung people, and their lifestyle, culture, tradition and distinct flora and fauna make Gosainkunda a popular trekking destination. 108 glacial lakes scattered throughout the region with the Himalayan ranges in the backdrop makes for a perfect view. 

The easy, short trek takes around a week to complete. Explore local life while resting in villages like Ghopte, Kutumsang, and Chisapani. Explore cheese factory, walk around the villages and snap pictures. Get the vista of Langtang Himalayan ranges on the backdrop. 

Gosainkunda trek takes you through multiple topographies. The sloppy and steep trail dotted with beautiful rhododendron, pine, and bamboo forests add the charm to the picture-perfect landscapes. Walking past the lush forest housing colorful wildflowers and animals is an amazing experience. The most thrilling part of the trek is climbing the Laurabina pass.

The trail is wet throughout the year so you have to be careful while ascending the steep cliffs. Monsoon and winter would not be an ideal season to embark on this journey. Fall and spring offer the best of this trek. 

Laurabina Pass : 

Tranquil off-the-beaten-path dotted with the hidden treasures of Langtang region take us to one of the most magnificent vantage point, Laurabina Pass. Laurabina Pass sits on the outskirt of Gosaikunda at an altitude of 4,610 m offering a startling vista of the picturesque snow-capped mountains above and a spectacular view of Gosaikunda below. 

The route to Laurabina pass from Gosaikunda is rough and steep. You will walk past rocky terrain, moraines, and some beautiful lakes. Like most of the trail in the Langtang region, this route is also decorated with colorful prayer flags. The amazing viewpoint offers mesmerizing vistas of the entire Langtang Range. Between autumn and early spring, the trail to Laurabina pass is unconquerable due to heavy snowfall. Monsoon does not offer a pleasant journey either. Thus, fall and spring are the best seasons to explore the Laurabina Pass.
