Get spoiled by the breathtaking vistas throughout the trek while navigating the trail in Jumla and Mugu district. We will come across a few rough trails as the route passes through rugged and ancient territory however we will live the magical moment throughout the trek. The vista of a massive lake, Rara Lake in the midst of lush forest within the true wilderness with the sparkling mountains piercing the sky is truly mesmerizing. The largest lake in Nepal, Rara Lake does not habituate any fish other than snow trout.

Rara Lake Trek is the best option for solitude travelers and also ideal for bird watching as Rara Park houses  214 spices of birds and wildlife. As most of the section of this route encompasses dense forest, we may come across wildlife including wild boar, Himalayan Thar, goral, leopard, Himalayan black bear and musk deer. The sight of different species of birds including Coot, common teal, mallard, red-crested pochards, black-necked grebes, blood pheasant, kalji pheasant, Himalayan monal, chukar partridge and Himalayan snowcock is common here.

Taking 14 days and 13 nights, the trek starts at Jumla and winds through various villages including Charya Chaur, Botan, Ghorasain, Jhyari, Chauta, and Tharamara. A few sections of the region is dominated by Thakuris following Hinduism whereas in some section we can see a great influence of Tibetan culture making the trek diverse and colorful. While walking across these villages, we will get an opportunity to explore the new culture, tradition, and custom. Trek into these ancient settlements will enrich us with the new perspective of life and the world.

Since it is not easily accessible only a few experienced trekkers embark into the Rara Lake Trek. Thus, we will barely find fellow trekker on our way. Enjoy the solitude, delve into the peace and be mesmerized by the dramatic landscapes.
